As I thought about what to write for Elyse and Harrison’s engagement photos post, I realized that I just had to share the story she wrote in an email to me in response me asking how he proposed….get a kleenex, it’s a good one!!
“Last Saturday I was sleeping in my room and at 7:45 AM, three of my best friends from out of town walk into my room, turn on my lights, and tell me I have a half hour to get dressed to leave! It took me about thirty seconds to realize— today is the day!!!! So Harrison wrote three letters with clues at the bottom of where my next location is. I was so tired (and sick at the time too) that I really struggled with the clues— they weren’t easy at all! But my friends helped lead me to the correct answers and we eventually got there. At the final location of the scavenger hunt, I already had about two hours to prepare myself that he would propose, so we laughed a lot when I got to the gazebo he was standing at. The surreal moment came when we finished laughing though, and we just looked into each other’s eyes for a moment and we both teared up— it felt like a silent understanding: the next thing Harrison is about to do is get on one knee, and I’m about to say yes… we are getting married! And so he did. The ring is gorgeous and my cheeks still hurt a week later from all the smiling I have done!”
See what I mean?! So sweet! Harrison, great job rocking it out with an epic, thrilling, unforgettable proposal!!
For their engagement session, we went to Ben Burton park in Athens, Georgia – there were lots of blooming flowers and some beautiful tall golden grass in the woods. We had such a great time – I never get tired of being around gushy love birds and taking their photos – what a fun job I have!
Elyse and Harrison, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this special season in life for you!! Enjoy the photos!
