They originally met and briefly dated in 2005, but when JJ’s job took him out of state, things just weren’t able to work out between them at that time. Over the years Amie and JJ kept in touch on and off but had pretty much lost touch with each other by 2009. It just wasn’t their time yet! Fast forward to 2017 and, fortunately for both of them, JJ moved back to Georgia. He had not forgotten about Amie at all and quite persistently strove to get back in touch with her! They began dating again and Amie says it was like no time had even passed at all. 🙂 They fell hard for each other and JJ decided it was time to make her his wife! He decided to propose during Amie’s family’s easter egg hunt – the whole family was in cahoots that day, but Amie never picked up on anything at all! Amie’s little niece came running up to her saying “aunt Amie doesn’t have enough easter eggs” and brought her a white easter egg with a wedding band in it! At that same time, JJ was walking up, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him! She said yes and now they are planning their wedding for this coming spring!
I absolutely love Watson Mill and always have thought it would be so great to have a shoot there, so when Amie suggested that location for her engagement photos, I jumped on it! It was a picture perfect fall afternoon in early November, sunny with a slight chilly breeze in the air – just gorgeous! Amie and JJ are adorably in love and it made my job so easy just documenting them being theirselves together! Enjoy the photos!
